Little change to public school enrollment

After nearly four months of the current school year, a comparison shows not much change in the Oconee School District enrollment from this year to last year. Steve Hanvey, associate superintendent, this morning said, “We are at 10,527 today.” That’s 100 fewer students from one year ago. The public schools enrollment is a testament to the increasing graying of the Oconee County population. The population countywide increases, while the numbers of public school children changes little.
