Linda Henderson Hembree
Canton- Linda Henderson Hembree, age 69, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
Linda was born January 2nd, 1950 to the late Hubert Henderson and the late Carrie Ball Henderson. A native of Haywood County, NC, she had resided most of her life in Salem, SC before making her home in Canton, NC in 2018.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James “Jack” Hembree; a son, Michael Hembree; an infant grandson, Robert James Hunter; three brothers, Roy and Bobby Henderson, and James who passed away as an infant.
Mrs. Hembree was a dedicated homemaker and devoted her entire life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She has been an example for each of us to follow and we have been taught many life lessons by having her as our mother. “We are each who we are because of her.” We give thanks for the life she lived and the blessings she brought to each of us.
She is survived by two sons, Burton Hembree (Renée Lewis), and Allen Hembree both of Salem, SC; two daughters, Debora Henson (Roger) of Canton, NC, and Tammy Crenshaw (Sammy) of Salem, SC; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren blessings on the way. Also surviving is a brother, A.J. Henderson (Joyce) of Townville, SC; and a sister, Rebecca Adams (George) of Seneca, SC.
Visitation will be held at Crawford / Ray Funeral Home in Canton, NC from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, September 14, 2019. The funeral will be held at Mt. Carmel #2 Baptist Church in Salem, SC, of which she was a member, at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 15, 2019. Pastor Frankie Porter will be officiating. The family will also be receiving friends at the church 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
