Libraries to re-open to the public

The Oconee County Public Library will be moving to the next phase of
resumed operations on Monday, June 15, when it reopens the libraries to the
public. Since May 18, 2020, the library has been offering curbside pickup of items,
a service which will continue even once the library opens its doors.
All branches will be open for limited hours – from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday
through Friday. Some evening and Saturday hours will resume at a later date. The
number of users in the library at any one time will be limited and fewer computers
made available for public use to allow for maximum social distancing.
Access to certain areas of the libraries will be restricted. Meeting or study rooms
will not be available at this time. Copiers and public internet computers will be
available. Computer use will be limited to reservation only, with a 30-minute time
limit.
Library staff will be required to wear masks in public areas, and the public is also
strongly encouraged to wear masks for their safety and the safety of the library
staff.
Summer Reading with weekly story times and special online programs will be held
virtually for the remainder of the year. Reading logs are now available, and the
library will still draw to award prizes for completing reading challenges
