Let’s talk about crisis at the border, says Graham

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri want a hearing on what they see as the ongoing crisis at the U-S-Mexico border.  The two Republicans in a letter are urging Democrat Chairman Dick Durbin of the Senate Judiciary Committee to schedule the hearing to allow those tasked with managing the border to testify.    According to Graham’s office, the Customs Border Patrol has apprehended historical numbers of migrants at the southern border this year and the increased numbers are causing unprecedented strain on the border patrol’s ability to process, feed, clothe, and care for migrants while, same time, interdicting illegal drugs, facilitating lawful trade and travel, and addressing health concerns associated with COVID-19.
