“Leon Henry Strecker “Lee”

“Leon Henry Strecker “Lee”, 70, passed away on September 5^th, 2023.  Leon is the son of the late Henry Leon and Rita Prostko Strecker, and the loving husband of 47 years to Beverly Brand Strecker.

 

Lee attended Central Connecticut State College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education. Afterwards, he finished his masters and sixth year at Western Connecticut State University.  Lee was a teacher for 37 years in the Darien, Connecticut public school system. During his tenure, he received the “Teacher of the Year” award.  Besides teaching, Lee also was well skilled in carpentry and owned his own remodeling business for 50 years.  Lee loved spending time with the family dog, carpentry, wood working, fishing, and his old truck. He was a practical joker and great storyteller.  Lee always tried to have a stellar day and his motto was, “keep smiling, kiddo”.

 

Lee is survived by his wife, daughters; Ashley Abreu (Chris) of Simpsonville SC, and Meghan Porter of Pendleton SC, grandchildren; Jackson Abreu, Alex Abreu, and Lyla Abreu, siblings; Janice Burriesci, Mary Ellen Ramsdell, and John Strecker.

 

Lee is predeceased by his parents.
