Lawn mower stolen outside the Home Depot

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in regard to a theft of a lawn mower from the Seneca Home Depot location.

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in regards to identifying a white van and a white male in relation to the incident.

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the store location, on Sandifer Boulevard near Seneca, on Monday morning of last week.  The deputy met with an employee of the store, who stated that a white male had stolen a Cub Cadet Electric Riding Lawn Mower that was located on the outside of the store.  The lawnmower has a 42’ deck and a lithium ion battery.  The mower is valued at approximately $4,599.00.

The white male was wearing a black/blue hoodie with a blue stripe on his arm.  A white van was seen in the parking lot of Home Depot and then went to another location on Sandifer Boulevard.  The employees of the store believe that the lawn mower may have been loaded into the van.

Based on evidence that has been gathered, it is believed that the lawn mower was stolen sometime between 4:40am and 4:45am last Monday.  The investigation has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
