Large bone in Seneca is partial remain of a female

The Seneca Police announce:  “On 06-17-19 around noon, officers were dispatched to a residence on Asbury Dr. to meet with the homeowner about his dog’s discovery of a large bone. Investigators contacted the coroner’s office for assistance in determining if it was human or animal. A subsequent search of the immediate area revealed no further findings at that point. On 06-18-19 a medical forensic exam determined the bone to be the partial remain of a human female. A large-scale search of the area was then initiated with the assistance of cadaver dogs. An expanded search resumed today utilizing more personnel and equipment. Today’s search, focusing on a creek arear near Sherwood Dr. and Robinhood Dr., has yielded more partial remains. The search is continuing and SLED has been contacted to assist in the search. Oconee Coroner Karl Addis will be issuing a release as well. More information will be provided when it becomes available.”
