Landmark sight at Seneca vanished
For years, she was a familiar sight. If you happened to look up from Seneca’s Miracle Circle intersection toward the manufacturing building that sits above the hill, you couldn’t help notice the neon figure of a woman wearing a bathing cap and a one-piece swim suit. She was a sign of the times of the Jantzen sportswear plant that located in Seneca from Portland, Oregon back in the 1950s. The location is now a retail store and distribution operation for Perry Ellis International, based in Miami, Florida. As explained to 101.7/WGOG NEWS, in the divestiture in recent years of Perry Ellis’s Jantzen holdings, that neon sign was moved to California.
