Lake townhomes’ case reaches a third court

Perhaps the most complex civil case ever tried in Oconee County remains without full resolution, years after the trial.  South Carolina Supreme Court is the latest of three courts to render judgment in the construction defect case brought by the owners of Stoneledge at Lake Keowee townhomes against multiple companies involved in the construction.  After two weeks of trial, million-dollar verdicts were returned.  But some of the dissatisfied parties went to the state Court of Appeals.  And this week the state’s highest court, the state Supreme Court,, weighed in, by affirming in part and by reversing in part the appeal court ruling.  The court noted that “immersion into the facts of this case and its knotty trial and appellate issues is not for the weary.”
