Lake access point to close for construction

A Lake Hartwell access area will be closed shortly after the start of the New Year and remain closed, likely, for most of 2022 to allow for improvements.  Oconee County announces the closing, Tuesday, January 4, of the Seneca Creek Access Area.  Anticipated re-opening will be December 7, 2022.  A Department of the Army permit authorizes a new 3-lane boat ramp with two courtesy docks, a fishing pier, and a kayak launch.  Phil Shirley, the county PRT director, said, “We are extremely excited to be at the point of construction for the Seneca Creek Access Area.”  Lake users are encouraged to consider other nearby access ramps such as Lawrence Bridge, Twelve Mile, Clemson Marina, and Twin Lakes.
