Lady Gamecocks win Natty

The South Carolina Gamecocks won the 2024 National Championship on Sunday, defeating Iowa 87-75, becoming just the 10th team in the history of the game to finish the season as an undefeated national champion and the fifth program to accomplish the feat.  Freshman sharpshooter Tessa Johnson led the way with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting for the Gamecocks, with senior center Kamilla Cardoso tacking on 15 points of her own in what was her final game in a South Carolina uniform.  Iowa’s Caitlin Clark paced all scorers with 30 points, 18 of which came in a record-setting first quarter.
