Keowee-Toxaway basin recovers to State 0 drought

The recent rain, along with rising reservoirs, has enabled to the Keowee-Toxaway Low Inflow Protocol to recover to a lower stage—Stage 0 drought. Stage 0 does not require action. It was proclaimed February 13. Under Stage 0, residents on Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee no longer are restricted on water withdrawals for irrigation. But Duke Energy reminds residents along both lakes of the requirement to return docks to their originally-permitted locations, if those docks were moved to follow the water when the basin was in Stage 2 drought. The Keowee-Toxaway River Basin is a tributary to the Savannah River Basin.
