Keowee Key vicinity wreck fatal to driver

The coroner says a 77-year old Salem man died shortly after the noon hour yesterday in the emergency department of a Greenville hospital of traumatic injuries suffered in the wreck of his pickup truck.  He was William Stanworth Jackson.  According to the highway patrol, Jackson’s pickup truck ran off the Stamp Creek Road about an hour and a half before and hit trees.  Lance Corp. Joe Hovis says it was necessary to mechanically extra the injured Jackson from his vehicle.  The driver was flown from the area to the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
