Karen “Kay” Lewis Lemere

Karen “Kay” Lewis Lemere, passed from this world into her Heavenly home on October 6, 2021, as she removed her hands from the hands of her family and loved ones, and then placed them into the hand of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Born: Wendell, Massachusetts, July 15, 1945.

 

One of 11 children of parents: Arthur Benjamin Lewis and Inez French Lewis of Wendell, Massachusetts.

 

Kay is survived by husband of 57 years, Earl Lay Lemere of Walhalla, sons: Brian Lemere (Angie) of Moore, SC and Matt Lemere (Michele) of Charlotte, NC; a sister: Del Williston (Will) of Wendell, MA; and a brother: Carl Lewis (Diane) of Ocala, FL.

 

She was preceded in death by sisters: Midge, Ruth, and Sandi; and brothers Dale, Art, Ralph, Richard, and Ted.

 

Kay was a former longtime employee of Walhalla Builders and Davis Brothers Lumber Company in Richland, SC where she was treated as a special addition to the Davis family.

 

Kay was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, serving on multiple committees, a choir member, and a member of the Serving Our Savior Sunday School class.

 

Kay enjoyed working outdoors with gardening and tending to a host of plant varieties. She loved flowers, especially both yellow and red roses. Kay loved feeding and watching the birds and tending to her two “babies”, Morgan and Maggie, and visits from Nahli Whitten.

 

Kay would rather give than to receive, and she was blessed with multitudes of prayers and expressions of love from multitudes that knew her.

 

All services will be private.
