K-9 loses trail of escaped inmate

K-9 teams in Stephens County, Georgia lost the trail of a jail escapee, and the sheriff believes Calvin McCoy is likely no longer in the area. Twenty-four year old McCoy vanished without being noticed on Wednesday morning as jail workers unloaded a delivery truck. The K-9 lost the track, likely because McCoy took to creeks in waist-deep water. Investigators have started a detailed investigation of McCoy’s history. It has revealed that he moved to the area a few years back, but originally called Ohio home. The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office has reached out to the fugitive apprehension team of the U-S Marshals Office for help. McCoy is a white male, 5’11”, 150 lbs; last seen in a white T-shirt, tan pants, tennis shoes. He has neck tattoos and one tattoo on his cheekbone.
