Juneteenth recommended as official Seneca holiday

Juneteenth is the newest federal holiday, and it’s likely soon to be an official Seneca holiday.  Juneteenth National Independence Day is also called Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, and Black Independence Day.  The holiday commemorates the emancipation of African-American slaves.  Scott Moulder, city administrator, told the mayor and council that he will present a recommendation to add Juneteenth as a holiday for city employees.
