JUDY CLAYTON

Westminster – Judy Marcengill Clayton, 75, wife of the late William Rhett Clayton for 48 years, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Prisma Health – Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Stephens County, Georgia, Judy was the daughter of the late Maurice Gilbert Marcengill and Mozelle Turner Marcengill.  Judy formerly worked for Jantzen, JP Stevens, and Kendall, and later retired from Dunlop.  Judy was a foster parent who had a tremendous love for children, and she enjoyed her flowers, crafting, shopping, and soap operas.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Misty Clayton of Florida, Maurica Clayton Justus (Scott) of Walhalla; sisters, Janice Hare (Edward), Kathy Sosebee (Ron), Karen Tompkins; sister-in-law, Pam Marcengill; grandchildren, Miranda Cooper (Grant), Saya Roberts, Alleya Waldo, Dorian Waldo, Dustin Hamby, Devin Justus; and great-grandsons, Carter William Roberts, Caiden Roberts, Caius Roberts, Carson Roberts, and Damian Waldo.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Judy is preceded in death by her brother, Greg Marcengill.

 

Per Judy’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
