Judge to prosecutor: “Get this case tried”

A circuit judge in Oconee has lowered the bond for a young man accused of multiple crimes, including such offenses as kidnapping and sexual misconduct.  At the same time, Judge Sprouse directed Deputy Solicitor Alderman, “Get this case tried.  This case needs resolution.”  For now the defendant, Tray Jerrell Frazier, will remain jailed until trial, unless he can secure a bond of $500 thousand.  Before yesterday, the bond was $735 thousand.  Appearing on behalf of Frazier, family members said they recognize the charges are serious, but they stressed they are, for now, unproven allegations and that Frazier should be allowed the chance to be released before trial so that he can be with loved ones.  Sprouse acknowledged their feelings, but he called the charges “extremely serious.”  Sprouse questioned Alderman about the timetable to schedule a trial.
