Judge denies bond for defendant accused of sex crimes

An Oakway area woman arrested in January on sex charges was sent back to jail yesterday after a judge denied bond. The attorney for Edna Jean Sluder said her client had no previous record and would be a good candidate for house arrest. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the offenses against Sluder and a co-defendant are alleged to have occurred between 2001 and 2010 and involved a male from his childhood to teenage years. Deputy Solicitor Lindsey Simmons told Judge Sprouse her office plans to resolve the cases by December.
