Judge and lawyer disagree on bond appropriateness

A young man will remain jailed until his murder case is called for trial, likely in December, in accord with a ruling by resident circuit judge Scott Sprouse yesterday in the Oconee General Sessions Court.  A street corner shooting a year ago in Westminster took the life of Annalyssa Marie Bionoilillo Rodriguez, an incident that the prosecutor ascribes to a marijuana deal gone wrong.  The alleged triggerman, Charles Stephon Trapp Jr., stood silently in court yesterday as his attorney appealed to the judge to set a bond, so that his client might be able to meet conditions to allow him to be free until trial.  But Sprouse read a document provided him and listened as both prosecution and defense gave their positions.  The judge decided “the nature of this case is that he (Trapp) is a danger to the community. Bond was denied; however, should the court is unable to call trial for December 12, Sprouse will be willing to re-consider a bond.
