Joseph Root

Westminster– Joseph Donald Root, Sr., 63, husband of Elizabeth Ita Kuzdzal Root, passed away on Monday, January 24^th, 2022 at Prisma Health – Oconee Memorial Hospital

 

Joseph was born in Brooksville, Florida, and was the son of the late Joseph Russell Root and Katheryn Hooker Root and was of the Baptist Faith.  Joseph enjoyed woodworking and his greatest joy was spending time with family; especially his grandchildren.

 

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years; son, Joseph “Joe” Root, Jr. of Payette, Idaho; daughters, Kristin Orr of Walhalla, Nicole McElroy of Fruitland, Idaho, Kaitlin Jones of Seneca, Erica Thacker of Simpsonville, and Elissa Root of Corpus Christi, TX; sister, Ruth Hall of Westminster; and five grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his sisters, Loretta McCall, Sandra Philyaw, and Wendy Critchfield.

 

Per Joseph’s wishes, no formal service will be held.

 

The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joseph’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 130, Fairfax, VA 22038.   Condolences may be expressed online by visiting.
