JOHN ABERCROMBIE

Westminster – John Clarence Taylor Abercrombie, 87, husband of the late Bonnie Ruth Bramlett Abercrombie, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his daughter’s residence surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born October 22, 1936, in Baldwin, Georgia, John was the son of the late Clarence and Ruby Glenn Abercrombie. John was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. John was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was also in the Army Reserve for eight years. He was a member of the Walhalla VFW Post 6830. John had a passion for camping, going on trips, going to the casino, riding dirt roads, telling stories with his friends, and playing bingo at the VFW 7720 in Cornelia, GA, but his greatest joy of all was spending time with his family.

 

John is survived by daughter, Renee Abercrombie (Justin Sieck) of Walhalla, SC; brother, Olin Johnson Leo Abercrombie of Westminster, SC; grandchildren, Talesha Jackson (Tim) of Williston, ND, Brittany Lusk (Jason) of Walhalla, SC, Chris Abercrombie (Kayla) of Seneca, SC, Ashley Abercrombie (Jason) of Seneca, SC; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, John is preceded in death by his sons, Boyd Abercrombie, and Stevie Abercrombie; brother, William “Peanut” Abercrombie; sisters, Ilene Smith, and Grace Richardson.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow, with full Military Honors, at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home.

 

The family is at his granddaughter’s residence, 116 Woody Way, Walhalla, SC 29691.
