Jim Watson

Seneca – William R. “Jim” Watson, 84, husband of Eleanor Butts Watson, entered his Heavenly home surrounded by his family, Tuesday, December 8th, 2020.

 

Born in Toccoa, Georgia, the son of the late Lester and Cleo Shirley Watson. He served in the United States Army, was a steel rigger, and crane flagman during the construction of the Oconee Nuclear Station. Jim was a craftsman who loved to work with his hands, an artist, loved the outdoors, and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. He was co-owner with his wife of Eleanor’s Flowers located in Seneca and Clemson.

 

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Eleanor Butts Watson; children, Rev. Timothy Watson (Judy) of Stony Point, N.C., Susie Holland (Kendall) of Westminster, S.C., Tobias Watson (Angel) of Spartanburg, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Erin Hudgins (Greg), Tiffany Hart (Rick), William Blake Holland (Tiffany), Austin L. Roy Holland, Logan Watson Holland, William Watson, Connor Watson; six great-grandchildren, Luke, Justin, Kendin, Silas, Wyatt, and Aesen; niece and nephews, Tammy Bakker, Randy Watson, and Ned Watson. He had many in-laws, nieces and nephews he adored.

 

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a brother, NL Watson of Salamanca, N.Y.; granddaughter, Marli Watson of Stony Point, N.C.

 

A Celebration Service of his life will be held 2 pm, Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at Seneca Church of God, 1010 East Main Street, Seneca, officiated by his son, the Rev. Timothy Watson, with full military honors to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, prior to the service at Seneca Church of God.
