Jewel Jeanette Patterson Elliston Wilbanks

 

Westminster – Jewel Jeanette Patterson Elliston Wilbanks, 90, crossed over by the Grace of God, to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September, 15, 2021.

 

Jewel was one of a kind.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, precious sister, aunt, church family member and neighbor.  She had a life of giving from her heart. Jewel was a nursing assistant for years at Lila Doyle then later she worked at the Tribble Center.  Prior to those jobs, she worked at several mills and plants. Garden Club was something she had a passion for and she was active at Chauga Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended.

 

Jewel was the daughter of the late Celia M. Stamey Patterson and John W. Patterson.  Jewel leaves behind her loving husband of eight years, Reuben J. Wilbanks; daughter, Brenda Kay Burchfield (Jerry); son, Jim Elliston (Jackie); Step-son, Scott Wilbanks (Kelly); brother, James M. Patterson (Earline); sister, Helen Worley (the late Ralph Worley); son from the heart, John Martinez; grandchildren, Shea Elliston (Teresa), Amber Elliston Lawrence (David), Katie Williams Grant (Luke); close friend, Ken Nicholson (Janice – deceased); step granddaughter, Jeanna Miller (Stacey); great grandchildren, Lily Terrell, Hunter Grant, Tyler Grant, Zack; step granddaughter, Chanda L. Williams (Brad) and their children, Jonah, Jade and Gabe; one wonderful niece, Fredda Patterson and her son, Matt; special nephews, Gary, Guy, Johnny Worley-deceased and Faron Patterson.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Rick Nicholson, whom she was close to.

 

A funeral service will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, September 19th, 2021, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Chauga Baptist Church. Jewel will lie in state, Saturday, September 18th, 8:00 am until 3:00 pm at Sandifer Funeral Home.
