JENNA BLACK

Seneca, formerly of Andrews, SC– Jeannette “Jenna” Winnifred Lambert Black, 75, wife of Rev. Tillman Leroy Black, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

 

Born on May 1, 1948, in Andrews, South Carolina, Jenna was the daughter of the late John Pressley “Rufus” and Beulah Annie Marie Lambert. After graduating high school, Jenna was employed for many years by Rowell Hardware in Andrews, South Carolina. After moving to the upstate she retired from BASF as an administration assistant. She was actively involved with Safe Harbor as a campaigner, raising money to help secure a women’s shelter in Oconee County. Jenna was a survivor of domestic violence. She had been an active member in Grace Family Church, playing the organ and singing, where her husband Tillman pastored until his retirement. She was a member of Fair Play Church of God, she loved the Lord, and the mountains, and had a special fondness for kittens.       

 

Jeannette is survived by her loving husband, Tillman Black; son, Tim Black (Cheryl); daughter, Tracy Brooks (Keith); nieces, Cheryl Osborne (Clem), Denise Cassano, Tammy Moore (Wade); nephew, Ron Lambert (Kristy); daughter-in-law, Susan Henson; and grandchildren, Matt Henson (Jessica), Heidi Henson.  

 

In addition to her parents, Jeannette is preceded in death by her brothers, Wilson “Shot” Lambert, and Vernod “VJ” Lambert; and her son, Danny Henson.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Fair Play Church of God.
