“Jane Doe” autopsy is inconclusive

The autopsy on the female remains found over recent days in parts of Seneca proved inconclusive today and, according to the coroner, did not provide a cause of death. Coroner Karl Addis this afternoon said further anthropology studies are needed, and they could take weeks to months. The remains found at both Asbury Drive and nearby in a Beech Drive area creek were in advanced decomposition. Addis said it’s still presumed that the female died within a range of the last several months up to less than a year. The coroner made these other points about this morning’s autopsy: “The deceased was found to be completely edentulous (no teeth); it appeared she has had no teeth for a while. The decedent was found to be wearing an athletic type sports bra. The article of clothing was a “Be Inspired” brand bra with multiple colors; this line of sports attire once was distributed by the Belk’s Corporation, however this does not mean the decedent obtained this specific item at Belk’s. The size and colors of clothing will not be disclosed at this time by the coroner office and Seneca Police Department. This office (the coroner’s) has not received any information regarding DNA testing at this time.”
