James Ellis “Jim” McCoy

Walhalla, SC – James Ellis McCoy, 83, husband of Charlotte Baldridge McCoy, of 335 Holloway Street, Walhalla, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

 

Born in Johnson City, TN, Mr. McCoy was the son of the late John Jack McCoy and Elsie Fern Kissinger McCoy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McCoy formerly worked for Torrington, Ingersoll-Rand, and Timken as an industrial engineer and plant manager, and currently owned and operated Falcon’s Lair Golf Course. Mr. McCoy was a member of the Walhalla Rotary Club, past Foundation Board Member of Tri-County Technical College, and past Chairman of the Board at Community First Bank. He was also a member of Seneca Church of Christ.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. McCoy is survived by his son: James E. McCoy, Jr. (Dorothy); daughter: Lana M. Duncan (Jimmy); sisters: Peggy M. Galloway (Frank) and Kay M. Good (Dick); three grandchildren: Caroline McCoy, Connor McCoy, and Sheridan McCoy; and sister-in-law: Judy Kilby.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his brother: Jack McCoy, Jr.

 

All services are private. Family and friends are welcome to come by and sign the register book at Davenport Funeral Home.
