James “Eddie” Edward Harden, Jr.

Walhalla, SC — James “Eddie” Edward Harden, Jr., 72, husband of Donna L. Harden, of 688 Pickett Post Road, Walhalla, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, in Maryland.

 

A native of Oconee County, SC, he was the son of the late James Edward Harden, Sr. and Madgeline Lee Harden. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard and retired from AT&T as a lineman. In his younger days he worked for his dad’s business, H&H Auto Parts. Mr. Harden was an avid bass fisherman, enjoyed racing and hanging out with the guys at Frasier’s General Store. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Harden is survived by his daughters: Carrie Harden Vallance (Phil) of Cooksville, MD and Ami Nicholson (Kenny) Seneca, SC; step-son: Chris Finkenstadt of TX; brother: Dan Harden (Debra) of Walhalla, SC; and grandchildren: Lola and Iris Vallance.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harden was preceded in death by his first wife: Sue Ellen Hendrix Harden; and mother-in-law: Frances Hendrix.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 6, 2019, at Oconee Memorial Park with military rites.

 

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

The family is at the home. Davenport Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
