Jack T. Collins

Westminster – Jack T. Collins, 83, husband of the late Sue Ellen Burdette Collins, 411 Cleveland Pike Road, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

 

A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Paul Collins and Julie Pelfrey Collins.      Jack was a retired tool and die maker and he was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church. Jack was a veteran having served with the United States Army, a past member of Lion’s Club, a 57-year member of the Cleveland Fire Department, and a member of the Oconee County Bee Keeper Association.  Jack was an avid beekeeper and was well known by many for his delicious honey and the positive impact he had on many children and adults throughout his life.

 

Jack is survived by his sons, Travis Collins of Westminster and Bradley Collins of Ashville; sisters, Wilma C. Schmidt, Anna Reed McClain, and Hilda Gillison; grandchildren, Zachary Collins, Lauren Collins, Chandler Collins, and Cameron Collins.

 

In addition to his parents and wife, Jack is preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Collins and Jewell Nash; daughter-in-law, Dawn Collins.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Old Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
