“It’s Time to Talk” about suicide prevention

Oconee School District and its community partners say “It’s Time to Talk” about a sensitive subject:  suicide.  In community meetings, they plan to raise awareness about suicide prevention.  This is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.  Everyone is invited to any one or all of the meetings this month at the county’s three high schools.  The meetings will be Monday, September 23 at Walhalla High School; Tuesday, September 24 at Seneca High School, and Thursday, September 26 at West-Oak High School to hear personal stories, learn about available resources, meet counselors and mental health professionals, and take part in Q-and-A sessions with a panel.  All meetings those evenings will start at 6 o’clock.
