“It (the resignation) was not voluntary”–Brinson

Sean Brinson says his resignation was not voluntary.  Brinson, whose letter of resignation, was received yesterday morning by the city says he believes the biggest issue the city council had with him is the frequency of officer turnover.  The former chief points out that in the national climate of police work it’s difficult to find persons willing to do the job.  He admits that, in a small town such as Walhalla, pay is not what it should be to keep city police officers satisfied.  Brinson says in his three years’ time at the head of the department higher pay for officers was something he worked on.  Capt. Tim Rice is now supervising the department.  As for going forward, Brinson admits he’s unsure what the future for him will hold.  He’ll pray, he’ll talk with family and friends about what he might do next.
