Inmate’s death attributed to heart condition

The Oconee coroner reports the death Christmas weekend of a 71-year old county inmate.  Coroner Karl Addis says CPR was started Sunday morning at the jail; however, inmate Calvin Carroll Cochran died later in the morning in the emergency department at the Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital. Addis says an autopsy revealed a cardiovascular condition and Cochran’s death has been classified as natural.
