Inmate moved from Georgia to Oconee

A West Union man who is accused of breaking drug laws over a two-year period has been moved from a Georgia jail to the Oconee County jail. According to a report from the Oconee Sheriff’s Office today, Jamie Charles Harvey was booked into the Oconee jail Wednesday afternoon, after having been picked up by Oconee officers at the Jackson County, Georgia Detention Center near Jefferson, Georgia. The following Oconee County charges are listed against 43-year old Harvey: trafficking in methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine. According to arrest warrants, undercover operatives, working at the direction of the sheriff’s office, made controlled buys of a quantity of meth from Harvey in both 2017 and again the next year, 2018. He’s being held on a total of six arrest warrants under a combined surety bond of $100 thousand.
