Independent consultant for safety inspections of dams

A long-time consultant in the field of the safety of dams has been given the OK by the federal government to conduct inspections of two Duke Energy facilities in Oconee County.  A document from the “FERC”—the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission—carries the approval of the selection of Dr. R. Craig Findlay of a state of Maine-based engineering company, to serve as independent consultant responsible for safety inspections of both the Keowee and Jocassee dams.  The approval stipulates that the independent consultant must either inspect the dams or be present during the inspections to supervise those who do them.
