Inappropriate touching alleged

An investigation by the Criminal Investigations Bureau/School Safety Bureau into inappropriate touching led investigators to charge a Walhalla man with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree.

 

58 year old Darryl Roger Talley was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:37pm Monday.  Talley was released from jail today after posting bond.  Talley was given a $25,000 surety bond.

 

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on October 11th of this year after a report was taken in regards to inappropriate touching of the victim, by Talley, during a time in which the victim was a minor.

 

The investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigation/School Safety Bureau.  Based on the result of the evidence gathered in the investigation, it was determined that Talley had grabbed the body part of the victim, during the fall of 2019, and used physical force to do so, according to the arrest warrant.  The crime involved only one victim.

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation, and in order the preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the victim, the Sheriff’s Office will not release any and all information that could potentially identify the victim in this investigation.
