In his absence, the defendant is judged guilty

An Oconee County man has been found guilty of indecent exposure in front of a deputy sheriff. The conviction of Billy Ray Craig came yesterday in a one-day trial, but the defendant wasn’t around for the proceedings. In his absence a public defender, Kayla Porter, pleaded Craig’s case. The state presented a graphic video recording made in Craig’s front yard on the Dr. John’s Road, along with the testimony of one witness, Deputy John Towery. A court officer says a bench warrant has been issued for Craig. He won’t know his fate until he’s eventually brought to court.
