In hearings, Oconee public to have say on bus routes

A Seneca official addressed today what will happen next on the project to extend passenger bus service farther into Oconee County. The county council this week agreed to put up matching funds for a grant that will allocate two new buses that’ll extend the service beyond the Seneca area. From what Seneca’s Ed Halbig says, it sounds as if a route to carry students to and from the Tri-County Tech campus on highway 11 will have priority, but there’s also the expectation for buses to run routes to both Walhalla and Westminster. Public hearings will take place on Thursday and Friday, December 19 and 20. And Halbig says those hearings will be the time and place for Oconeeans to recommend where the routes will be added.
