How West Union could spend $83 thousand

Like other local governments, West Union has received American Rescue Plan money from Washington to help relieve effects of COVID-19.  Mayor Oliver says West Union is holding $83 thousand dollars, received in September, in a new banking account.  How to spend that money will be a topic Tuesday next week during the West Union Town Council December meeting.  Mayor Oliver has some ideas.  One is bonus pay for the town’s small workforce that stayed on the job during a year of the pandemic.  The mayor says her town can expect another allocation of ARP money in 2022.
