How Walhalla markets its corner-owned acreage

Walhalla Councilman Keith Pace suggests a gazebo for one use of nearly 1.5 acres of city-owned property at Main and S. College.  But other city officials envision the cleared lot as something more, perhaps, a hotel or another commercial building that would feature second floor condominiums. Also discussed last night:  the idea of establishing a new spot for the city’s farmers market.  Mayor Edwards noted also that, in recent years, Mast General Store had considered the location.  Libby Imbody, Main Street Director, recommends the mayor and council consider “the big picture” as how the property should develop, with the specific consideration given to a commercial aspect that would enhance the city’s revenues.
