How to track COVID-19 in Oconee public schools

Oconee School District has posted two cases of COVID-19 so far in the first four days of the academic year.  And there’s a simple way for parents, guardians, and members of the general public to track the severity of the virus in the county’s public schools.  To start, go to the district website www.sdoc.org and follow the appropriate links.  One of the documents contained within is an explanation of what the district does when it’s determined there is a case.  Tracing is a component of the district’s COVID-19 procedures.  If there is a case and the individual had contact with fellow students and teachers, those students and teachers will receive a phone call.  Parents and guardians have a role in keeping down the potential for spread in the schools by doing daily wellness checks on their children before they go to school.
