Hit-run fatal accident near Salem

A two-vehicle accident last night near Salem took the life of one driver.  What happened just before 7:30 on SC 130, the Whitewater Falls Road, has left the state patrol in search of the driver of unknown vehicle who is considered the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run.  According to trooper Hovis, investigators believe the driver of the unknown vehicle went left of center and collided with a Dodge pickup truck which then went off the road and hit trees. The Dodge pickup driver died at the scene.  Coroner Karl Addis issued the following brief statement:  “A traffic fatality has occurred on SC 130 (Whitewater Falls Road) near Salem.  No other details will be released tonight.”
