His colleagues bid him farewell

Walhalla’s Brandon Burton was the man of the hour for a few moments yesterday during a meeting of the board of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  Burton’s municipal colleagues from Oconee’s tri-cities stood and applauded as Burton walked into the meeting room.  This was to show their respect for the short time that Burton represented his city on the sewer policy board.  Yesterday’s JRSA meeting was Burton’s last before he pursues a career change in a Virginia town.  Among those making laudatory remarks was Seneca’s Scott Moulder.  The Seneca city administrator said Burton will be missed, and he complimented Burton for his time as a sewer commissioner, a Walhalla city administrator, and as a Walhalla fire chief.  Burton said, “I’ve learned a lot.”
