High-speed chase alert proves popular

The app Pursuit Alert that is now available to be added to cell phones to alert Oconeeans of high speed chases in progress is proving popular in its early stages. The first numbers that Sheriff Mike Crenshaw saw indicated that in the first ten hour, there were more than one thousand downloads. What’s considered to be a break-thru technology designed to enhance the safety of both sheriff’s officers and the general driving public may catch on in nearby law enforcement jurisdictions—such as Anderson County and Stephens County, Georgia. Anderson officers Saturday night on I-85 chased a traffic violation suspect from their county, thru Oconee, and ending in Georgia.
