Morris, who has worked as an administrative assistant in the office since last year, was the choice for the job that pays $37,318. According to the general description for the job, “The Deputy Coroner works at the discretion of the Coroner and may perform any or all of the duties pertaining to the office of the Coroner. The Deputy Coroner is primarily responsible for death scene investigations to determine cause and manner of death within the jurisdiction of Oconee County per South Carolina statute. Employee works under the supervision of the Coroner.” The job requires some heavy lifting. “More than 100 pounds; under 1/3 of the time,” according to the job posting. And good vision is a requirement. The job posting calls for 20/20 vision or corrected vision.
