Help for Westminster to enforce youth curfew

Additional enforcement is available to Westminster to enforce the city’s youth curfew. At the request of Police Chief Rory Jones, the city council last night approved an inter-government arrangement between the city and the Oconee Sheriff’s Office that will allow county officers to cite children who are discovered outdoors late at night without a proper excuse. Now weeks old, the curfew may be working. Jones told the mayor and council his department has taken no additional reports of rowdiness by groups of children who earlier roamed the streets and, in some cases, picked fights.
