Helen Crenshaw

Westminster- Helen McAlister Crenshaw, 90, widow of the late Garnett Edward Crenshaw, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2019 at Keowee Place in Seneca, SC.

 

A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Lillie Mae Norris McAlister. Helen formerly worked for Beacon Manufacturing and then later retired from Jantzen. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Westminster, member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class, member of the TEL Sunday School Class, and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. 

 

She was a prayerful woman who loved her God. She used her talents inside and outside of the home, raising her family and enjoying the beautiful home and garden in Westminster.

 

Helen is survived by her sons, Bob Crenshaw (Beverly) of Westminster, Charlie Crenshaw (Debbie) of Seneca, Joe Crenshaw (Kim) of Seneca, Doug Crenshaw of Westminster; daughter, Ann Hemphill (Martin) of Seneca; eight grandchildren, Matt Schumacher, Jenni Holland, Maria Abbink, Amy Crenshaw, Hannah Crenshaw, Nick Crenshaw, Josie Crenshaw, Mason Crenshaw; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crenshaw is preceded in death by infant sister, Gaynelle McAlister.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 am prior to the service.

 

The family is at their respective homes and would like to recognize the staff at Keowee Place for their care over the years.
