Heat compounded by fire smoke

Outdoor activity today in 90-degree weather potentially will worsen by smoke from those wildfires out west.  South Carolina DHEC warns of the continued risk of health effects.  The smoke can irritate the eyes and respiratory system, as well as aggravate or exacerbate heart and lung conditions.  The health and visibility impacts are possible in all parts of South Carolina through today. DHEC recommends those with respiratory issue limit time outside to avoid the smoke.  Keep windows and doors closed.  When running the air conditioner, keep the fresh-air intake closed and the filter clean to prevent the outdoor smoke from getting inside.
