Hearing to settle exiting school bus mishap

A hearing before a civil judge could be held as early as next week to approve a financial settlement for a boy who fell and broke a shinbone while getting off an Oconee school bus. Documents filed yesterday in the Common Pleas Court show the accident to have occurred on January 10, 2018. According to a petition filed by the boy’s mother, her side is willing to accept a net settlement of $30,705.19. In the petition, the mother acknowledges that if the court approves the settlement, “it will constitute a full and final resolution, and that there will be no further recourse against the (School) District, Selective Insurance Company of America, or any of its insureds, for any claims whatsoever arising out of this Incident.”
