Hearing ahead for school shooting suspect

The 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office has announced a pre-trial hearing will take place next month in the case of teenager arrested after shootings in 2016 at Townville that wounded two people and resulted in the deaths of two others. According to an order by the Family Court, a hearing will be held the week of February 12 on the prosecution’s motion to move the case against the boy arrested, Jesse Dewitt Osborne, from the Family to the General Sessions Court, where the potential penalties on conviction would be greater. The death toll from the shootings included a student at the Townville Elementary School and Osborne’s father, found dead at the Osborne home nearby.
