Hartwell Village to see more student housing

The start of work is visible at Oconee’s Hartwell Village Shopping Center on four buildings that will contain student housing, to help meet the needs that a rising Clemson student enrollment are creating. Officials with Seneca and Oconee County are saying that the new project will consist of four buildings of three to four stories that will contain nearly 200 bed spaces—of units of 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms. In recent days large piles of dirt and some foundational work were spotted on undeveloped shopping center land, between the Aldi supermarket and Tru by Hilton Hotel. Bob Faires says Seneca Light and Water will provide both water and sewer service for the project which is being referred to as “Hartwell Village Student Housing.” Nearing completion at the opposite end of the shopping center project is the Lakeside Lodge Condo and Hotel project.
